STEM Classes

Build STEM skills, gain an edge in school, and set students up for a lifetime of learning.

Our interdisciplinary curriculum focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.

Students complete fun, hands-on projects in a wide range of areas, like programming, engineering, science, digital arts, and game design. They learn fundamental concepts and skills above and beyond what’s taught in the classroom.

Registration Options

Our STEM classes offer ongoing enrollment. Students can join anytime. Students are given personalized lessons and projects, and progress at their own pace.

Monthly Plan

  • $125 / month

Sign up for monthly plan for $125 per month and attend one STEM class per week.   Students can choose any available STEM class on weekdays and weekends.

Class Packs (Group Classes)

  • 4 Class Pack - $125
  • 10 Class Pack - $325

Class packs are a good option if you need schedule flexibility.  Only pay for the classes you use.  Students can attend any STEM class on weekdays or weekends.

Private STEM Classes (1:1)

Private sessions (1:1) are available for all STEM subjects, and are available through out the year. Private sessions include: personalized learning plan and assessments.

STEM Classes for Pre-K - Gr 2

STEM Adventures for Pre-K

STEM Adventures delivers hands-on, interactive activities designed to spark wonder and bring out the curious nature of our youngest learners. Each week, students will explore different areas of the life and physical sciences, including biology, chemistry, physics and engineering. Weekly themes and questions will challenge your student to think creatively and learn to problem solve. Students will be introduced to the scientific thought process as they build and create structures, investigate and combine materials, and participate in open-ended exploration as well as teacher led experiments.

LEGO Engineering

LEGOs are one of the first tools many young students have access to when they begin to use their imagination. In this class, students will be introduced to basic engineering concepts and building techniques, with a focus on building simple machines to problem solve. Students will create a LEGO world of their own, incorporating LEGO WeDo robots, and other LEGO extensions. By the end of the class, students will have created an interactive LEGO world that encourages their imagination to grow and thrive.

Jr. FLL Robotics Challenge

Join the 2019 Jr. FLL Robotics Challenge – BoomTown Build. Each year, FIRST LEGO League Jr. presents a new and exciting Challenge to ignite the creativity of children age 6 to 10.

Each team of up to 6 children begins the exploration of this real-world theme with an exclusive LEGO Inspire Model. Using this model as a starting point, they design a new model of their own with LEGO elements.

As they work, they learn basic engineering and programming skills with LEGO WeDo robotics kits, and apply those concepts to make their model move. Teams also document their work in an Engineering Notebook and share their journey through a team Show Me Poster.

Digital Arts & Crafts

Digital Arts & Crafts incorporates all the fun and creativity of traditional arts and crafts but also introduces cutting edge technology. Students in this class will learn the basics of photography, stop motion video, animation, and explore fine art classics. They will have so much fun playing that they may not realize how much they are learning!

STEM Classes for Grades 4-6

LEGO Robotics & EV3 Coding

This class teaches students how to build and program LEGO Mindstorms EV3 robots. Students will work in individually and in small teams to accomplish missions and compete against other teams. This is a great course for students interested in learning EV3 programming and participating in FLL tournaments.

Intro to 3D Modeling & Printing

This class introduces the basic concepts of 3D modeling and printing. This skill is fun for students to learn and has practical applications in many fields ranging from illustration & animation to corporate & industrial design. Students will create or modify a variety of objects and structures. They will learn how to use TinkerCAD and Blender to create their own 3D models and objects. At each class, students will take home their very own 3D printed creations.

Intro to Music Creation with GarageBand

In this class, students will get to learn how to use GarageBand and learn how to produce their own songs. They will learn the basics of using the application, how to use different instruments, and recording sounds using digital instruments on the app.

Minecraft Game Design & Coding

This class introduces the basic concepts of Minecraft modding using Blockly Javascript coding. Students will learn the concept of programming and designing mods for Minecraft using Learn to Mod and Minecraft Education Blockly coding. They will gain an understanding of fundamentals of Javascript programming while creating their own fun, creative Minecraft mods and textures.

Intro to Movie Making

In the class, students will use their creativity to produce their own short films and videos. We will teach them the concepts of film making, story telling, video editing, and audio mixing. We will also explore the elements of production before, during and after a film is made. They will use these new concepts to transform their creative writing, set design, special effects, video, and audio editing techniques into their final projects.

STEM Classes for Grades 6-12

3D Modeling & Printing

This class introduces the basic concepts of 3D modeling and printing. This skill is fun for students to learn and has practical applications in many fields ranging from illustration & animation to corporate & industrial design. Students will create or modify a variety of objects and structures. They will gain an understanding of Google SketchUp and a 3D workspace. At the end of this course, students will take home their very own 3D printed creations and a valuable 21st century skill.

Digital Movie Making & Video Production

In the class, students will use their creativity to produce their own short films and videos. We will teach them the concepts of film making, story telling, video editing, and audio mixing. We will also explore the elements of production before, during and after a film is made. They will use these new concepts to transform their creative writing, set design, special effects, video, and audio editing techniques into their final projects.

Digital Music Production

In this class, Students will learn about production, how to use MIDI devices, set up microphones, record different instruments. Students will learn how to mix and master their recordings and learn about how to make different styles of music using the tools in their music application (Garage Band or more advanced applications) and about what music tools the industry uses and how to accommodate different recording environments to work best for their music.

Python / Java Programming

Students learn core programming concepts using Python and Java. They use it to create simple games and command-line applications. In addition, they cover the basics of object-oriented programming concepts and principles, and are able to understand its application in the development of Java software systems.

Intro to Apple iOS Development

In this new course, students will learn all about the Apple iOS developer tools and be able to develop in that environment. They will learn how to build an iOS app, use APIs, and use new technologies such as SwiftUI. At the end of this class, students will have the abilities and skills to develop in the Apple development ecosystem and have a solid foundation on app development and programming. This course is intended for students who have some prior experience and knowledge of programming languages such as Python and/or Java.

STEM Pathways

STEM Pathways take your student from passionate interest to practical application.
All Mindframe classes are based on a structured curriculum we call STEM Pathways. These lessons are designed to increase STEM knowledge, improve STEM skills, and allow students to work toward a concrete goals. They’ll see the results of their efforts and gain a real sense of accomplishment. All they have to do is pick a path or two.

  • Students of any age (K-12) can follow a STEM pathway.
  • Earn badges along the way, and in some cases, work toward professional certifications
  • Prepare and enter STEM competitions
  • At advanced levels, students work toward advantages when it comes to applying for college scholarships, and the ability to publish and sell apps, games, and other STEM-related projects
  • By pursuing STEM Pathways year-round, students retain more knowledge and progress faster

How to get started
with STEM Pathways

Answer a few quick questions to let us know what your child’s interests are. Schedule an in-person meeting or a phone call if you like to talk through any questions you have.

We’ll designate a Learning Coach for your child, who will guide them through the pathway and act as your single point of contact. You Learning Coach will send you a personalized STEM Pathway learning recommendation.

Based on your recommendation, enroll your student in class — available weekdays and weekends during the school-year, and all summer long. Pay tuition monthly or as you go.

We’ll keep you updated on your child’s progress with regular status reports.

As your child completes a course or a level, they’ll earn badges, have the opportunity to participate in competitions, and maybe even publish their programs, apps, and games. Then, they’ll move the next level in their current curriculum, or take on a different pathway.
