Mindframe Education announces the opening of the company’s first STEM learning center in Loudoun County. Mindframe is offering summer camps and workshops for children ages 7-18 beginning on June 23, 2014. The Center is also accepting registrations for Mindframe’s STEM after-school program for the 2014-2015 school year.
At the company’s Ashburn Center, Mindframe students will study game design, programming, application development, digital arts, engineering, robotics and related courses. Hands-on engineering and math games are used to teach collaboration and communication skills. All Mindframe students take an Internet safety pledge. In addition to ‘screen’ time using Mindframe’s top-of-the-line computing technology, summer camp students will enjoy ‘green’ time outdoors each day.
Camps are designed so that novice, intermediate and advanced STEM students can learn at their own pace and students are grouped by age and ability.
Founded by a husband and wife team who were educated in both India and The United States, Mindframe Education’s mission is to help students get exposure to higher-level STEM coursework than what a typical K-12 school can offer.
At the end of each Mindframe camp session, students exhibit their projects and develop a portfolio of original work. Parents who attended Mindframe Education’s “Preview Day” last weekend said they believe Mindframe’s STEM courses will help their children to better compete in a competitive job market and may even help earn them a slot at the Loudoun Academy of Science or Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology.
Mindframe Education summer camp hours are from 9am – 5pm, Monday through Friday every week this summer and morning/after care is available. Camps cost $395 per week and the Center will maintain an 8:1 student teacher ratio during each camp session.
Registration for Mindframe summer camps is now open at www.MindframeEducation.com.
Beginning in the Fall of 2014, Mindframe will offer a STEM after-school program which includes transportation from local schools. Mindframe also plans to offer advanced STEM classes for adults in the evenings and on weekends.
