Engineering & Robotics Instructor
We are currently looking for an Engineering & Robotics instructors with good communication and technical skills, and a passion for teaching the next generation of creative artists.   Instructors will provide technical instruction for STEM classes on weekends and summer camps for middle / high school students.  The instructors will teach students the fundamentals of the design and build process and provide hands-on guidance for students to create real products. Our instructors establish a mentoring and guiding relationship with their students to help them solve problems, and know how to break ideas down into intermediate solvable steps using a project-based lesson plan.
This is a part-time position, offers flexible work schedule, and competitive compensation. A successful candidate for this position should have the following skills, experience and attributes:
  • Hands-on experience with robotics platforms such as LEGO Mindstorms, VEX
  • Hands-on experience with micro-controllers such as Arduino, and computer hardware such as Raspberry Pi
  • Good understanding of Arduino prototyping platform, Linux, and programming languages such as Python, C
  • Good understanding of computer hardware components and principles of electronics design
  • Desire and ability to teach and mentor K-12 students
  • Ability to work well and coordinate with parents, other teachers and staff
  • Good at breaking things down and making things simple to understand
  • Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
  • Patient and positive attitude
